Thanks to the generosity of many and the wisdom of Jan Johnson and Chrissy Christian our Mission was able to buy a van this past month. We were able to buy a 2022, 12 passenger Ford Transit Van. So, thank you all for sending along such kind and liberal gifts. And, “yes,” the van is already at work helping the homeless in many ways with an invitation to come stay with us; to get warm, clean and rested; have a filling meal and hear of the Saviors love. Recently in our ongoing efforts to support the community churches and lift up the name of Jesus, the men have handed out invitations in the Hammond area to the Gateway Church services and share printed invitations to Gateway’s monthly community meal. That’s discipleship friends and I am very proud of their service. Pastor Raul Hurtado of Gateway is a kind and Godly man doing his best to share Christ’s love in the Hammond area. Please pray for him and his wife, Shelli. Also…my hearts request…, “Please pray for Pastor Marty Cole and his wife Cindy of Ocean Park. He is told his time is short and so if that be God’s plan we wish him strength, comfort and may many of the seeds of faith in Christ that he has planted soon come to fruition. Special thoughts for this Godly couple and the church they lovingly serve.

THE PURPOSE OF THE ASTORIA RESCUE MISSION..
..is to offer assistance, as made available, to those in need.
The Astoria Rescue Mission is an ARM of the local churches in reaching out to the “least, the last and the lost.” Our primary concern is seeing lives saved, introducing people to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and helping them to develop a relationship with HIM.
We serve all who come to us, physically, spiritually and emotionally, sharing the Love of Christ with everyone.
Through our “New Life” Discipleship Program we teach our clients to be students and followers of Jesus Christ.
We have daily Bible studies and chapel services, provide counseling, encourage higher education, and when each individual is ready, we help them acquire & maintain employment and eventually secure a residence of their own.
We provide nights’ lodging, 3 meals a day, showers and laundry services, and warm clothing, sleeping bags, hats and gloves as provided for the that come to us.
We also take lunches, warm clothing, sleeping bags, hats and gloves to those in need in our community between Astoria and Seaside.
*The Least: “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’” Matthew 25:40
*The Last: “So the last will be first, and the first will be last” Matthew 20:16
*The Lost: “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost” Matthew 18:11
