People from every walk of society enter through the doors of the Astoria Rescue Mission. Lawyers, Teachers, Carpenters, Chefs, Salesmen, Veterans, Artists, Computer Programmers, Writers, Mechanics and Engineers to name just a few. It is commonly known that the vast majority of those in the workforce is just a mere one or two paychecks away from being homeless. The face of the homeless is no longer the the stranger on the fringe of society that were once erroneously stereotyped with words like "Bum", "Hobo" or "Degenerate" Today we can no longer ignore the face of the homeless. They are our friends, neighbors, coworkers and families.
THE ASTORIA RESCUE MISSION INVITES YOU TO COME AND HEAR, FIRST HAND, THE STORIES OF THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO ARE FINDING THEMSELVES BEING DELIVERED FROM THE BONDAGE OF SIN AS THEY LEARN TO DEVELOP A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD.

David Newman - EXEXCUTIVE DIRECTOR: I am Thankful for being a Believer, in a world where there are many different paths one can take. Jesus chose me out of the world and placed me within a family who adores him. By nothing I have done, he places me within a ministry where miracles happen often. I am thankful for my wonderful wife and children and for my brothers and sisters at the mission, who play a major role in helping me keep my eyes upon The Lord.
